This time with a skein of Malabrigo worsted in a light pink (17 Pink Frost ).
PATTERN
Cast on 67 st, with US9 or 10.5 (depending on how tight you are knitting)
Knit in garter (all knit) for 8 rows
right side, knit all stitches
then on wrong side, knit 6, (purl 5 knit 5) 5 times, purl 5, knit 6
on right side, knit 6, (knit 5, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1) 5 times, knit 5, knit 6
following wrong side, knit 6, (purl 5, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1) 5 times, purl 5, knit 6
repeat these 4 rows 21 times
then 1 row all knit and 1 row on wrong side, knit 6, purl 55, knit 6
finish with 8 rows of garter st and bind off.
★ My little tip
Make sure you do 2 extra border rows of go and back garter every 10 rows for the side border. It means only on these 6 stitches on each side of the border, you do 2 extra rows.
Hope it is clearer now ☺
It will even with the stockinette stitch, otherwise, the border will looks squizzed.
Also, blocking will make your blanket even and bigger, even a more professional look.
I have added the pattern in a PDF file to download, just click on the image and print/save on your desktop, tablet or smartphone.
Feel free to leave a comment, it is always fun

Enjoy!! Part 3 is coming soon...☺

ReplyDeleteSuperbe point et une couleur toute douce! En plus cette laine est une merveille!

ReplyDeletei don't really understand what you mean in the "my little tip" section...i'm hoping to start this asap, so any help anyone could give would be awesome! thanks!
ReplyDeletegreat pattern. i;m not sure what you mean in the "little tip" section. any help would be great!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit confused; after the instruction "Repeat these 4 rows 21 times" the pattern says to "Then 1 row all knit and 1 row on wrong side, knit 6, purl 55, knit 6" … will there be two rows of knit … the last row, row 4 of the repeating pattern, and this new knitted row before knit 6, purl 55, knit 6? Thank you.
ReplyDeletehi, there are 4 different rows,
DeleteRow 1 right side, knit all stitches
Row 2 then on wrong side, knit 6, (purl 5 knit 5) 5 times, purl 5, knit 6
Row 3 on right side, knit 6, (knit 5, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1) 5 times, knit 5, knit 6
Row 4 following wrong side, knit 6, (purl 5, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1) 5 times, purl 5, knit 6
This pattern is gorgeous. My question is.....can this blanket be made bigger? If so, what is the multiple of stitches used to increase size?? Thank you. I would love to make this blanket for a queen-sized bed. Your help is greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYes to make it bigger use multiples of 10 + 12
DeleteGood artcile. but it would be better if in future you can share more about this subject. Keep posting.

ReplyDeleteMake sure you do 2 extra border rows of go and back garter every 10 rows for the side border. It means only on these 6 stitches on each side of the border, you do 2 extra rows.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this necessary if the beginning and end of each row calls for 6 knitted stitches. Very confusing!
because garter stitch rows are not as 'tall' as other stitches and so the border will not sit straight and the resulting blanket will have curved side borders and the body of the blanket will look 'pouchy' instead of flat .
DeleteWhy can't I print this pattern if it's free?
