✿ New baby blanket ✿ . . . ♥ with my own colors ♥

I confess I really like making baby blankets, it is so cute ant it makes people feel so happy!!

So I always find a way to reinvent it one way or another
while browsing stores, magazines, blogs, Pinterest and Instagram

But every time I was attracted on a particular color combination,
I could never find the perfect yarn for it.

Then I started to experiment dyeing yarn here and there for the past few years and
I am finally coming up with colors I really like.

With the same recipe found here, I have came up with a dozen new colors,
Some nice, some less nice...

✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿ ✿

I started with a few soft baby girl colors:
pale pink, mauve, chestnut, beige, and sand grey

but once finished the blanket was to small
so I am probably going to add another color for the next one.

The pattern is really simple as it is all knit rows.
It gives the blanket a rich texture and a ultra soft feeling,
perfect combination for a baby blanket.

Size: 60 x 70 cm
Yarn: Cashmere/Merino wool blend
Weight: worsted/aran

I hope other people will like the colors too as I plan to have the baby blankets for sale soon.

I selected a nice worsted cashmere blend for a luxury soft baby blanket
and plenty of yarn to continue experimenting.

New baby blanket - Sweet Valentine

The latest of the baby blanket called "Sweet Valentine" due to this vibrant Raspberry Sorbet color you want literally munch on. This time I tried a new yarn, Madelinetosh Merino DK, in Vermilion color.
I always like to knit garter stitches for baby blankets but it is a bit boring to knit 100 garter stitch row so I designed it with a little twist

the "Sweet Valentine" blanket is available for purchase in my Etsy store

Blanket size is 50 by 50 cm, or 23 by 23 inches
Supply: 1 skein of MadelineTosh Merino DK

Tutorial

Cast on 79 st, with US9

Knit in garter (all knit) for 7 rows
Wrong side, knit 4, (purl 1, knit 6) 10 times, purl 1, knit 4
Then on right side, knit all stitches
Repeat these 2 rows 50 times
Finish with 6 rows of garter st and bind off.

Logwood yarn dyeing

Still playing with natural dyeing, this time with logwood

First we did a lot of testing, filling the pot with 25g skeins one every 10 minutes

Ten when the dyeing was at a good purple color, I put an entire skein of Malabrigo worsted

Voila!!

And a new Newborn Baby Blanket was born!!
